Ornate & Decorative Slating Training Course

Course outline:
The Ornate and decorative slating course is a 5-day immersive course exploring the technical aspects and artistic elements required to create motifs, murals and stand-alone slate pieces in the roofing context. Students will create group projects and also personal pieces throughout the course combining many skills and using a wide range of slate types and other decorative metalwork additions.

Who should attend?
The course is best suited to those who already have experience in natural slating and who can use hand tools for cutting slate including slate knives, break irons and guillotines. All tools are supplied at the training facility but students are welcome to bring their own tools if they feel more comfortable using their own equipment.
