Roof Slate and Tiling Training Course

Course outline:

Our 5-day Roof slate and Tiling course will cover the following disciplines.

The essential Slating and Tiling course comprise the core elements of pitched roofing, helping candidates to focus on the importance of setting out the roof correctly, following industry guidance.

The course which runs over 5 days gives candidates a state of natural slating, plain tiling and interlocking tile details including setting out and battening, valley details, hip details, abutment details, calculating head lap, squaring the roof area, datum battens and eave details, cutting and holing natural slate, correct loading of roof area, setting out perp lines and many other aspects of pitched roofing.

Previous experience is not essential but someone with prior knowledge of working on roofs is preferred. The courses are held in small groups of 4. This means that each candidate will have time to go over any quires they may have or a discipline they might want to revisit.

This course is £750 +VAT. Every student is given a full tool box for use during the week. All other equipment and materials used will be provided for you.

Course runs Monday to Friday 8.30am to 16.30pm from Salford.
