Small Skills and Training Fund

The Skills and Training fund aims to help micro and small construction companies to deliver high quality learning and development experiences to employees. It provides extra incentive to access CITB grant eligible training. it also supports a wider range of activity, with a greater emphasis on innovation, and management and leadership training. Up to £10.000 can be claimed, depending on how many direct employees an employer have (PAYE)

Who can apply?

  • You are a CITB-registered employer.
  • You have 1-99 directly employed staff on the payroll (employees must be in addition to yourself / business owner).
  • Any previous project paid for by the Skills and Training fund has been signed off as complete.
  • You can apply for funding once every 12 months.

Medium Skilled and Training Fund

The Skills and Training fund aims to enable medium-sized construction companies (with up to 250 directly employed staff) to improve their training programme so that it meets the more complex needs of a developing business. This can include management and leadership training, helping you unlock growth through new technology or introducing new skills to improve productivity in your business. The funding claim is up to £25.000.

Who can apply?

  • You are a CITB-registered employer.
  • You have between 100 and 250 directly-employed staff on the payroll.
  • Any previous project paid for by the Skills and Training fund has been signed off as complete.
  • You can apply for funding once every 12 months.

Grants support employers who provide day to day training for their workforce. They contribute to the cost of training and qualifying your workforce in construction-related subjects across the following three categories: Short course grants, Qualification grants and Apprenticeships. Grants and Funding

SPECIALIST APPLIED PROGRAMMES (SAP) FUNDING

Specialist Applied Programmes (SAP) funding is now available to CITB registered contractors for the following qualifications.

  • Lead and Hard Metals Level 2.
  • Heritage Lead and Hard Metals Level 3.
  • Heritage Roof Slating & Tiling Level 3.

Funding

The Specialist Applied Programme is funded through the CITB with a contribution of up to £5,000 leaving a small contribution from the employer.

CITB have also introduced the Travel to Train scheme to help employers with the costs of sending SAP candidates on training, which includes accommodation, travel and meals of up to 80% of the cost, meaning the employer only has to contribute 20%.

Training Delivery

Training delivery is available from either one of our two training centres in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire or Salford, Manchester.  Both training facilities have state of the art full scale simulated training rigs together with well-equipped tools and equipment and knowledgeable and experienced and qualified tutors.

Level 2 Hard or Soft Metal Roofing Operative

The Level 2 Lead Sheet and Hard Metals programmes are an 18-month training and assessment programme, which consists of 30 days attendance at either one of our training centres delivered over 6 weeks blocks of 5 consecutive.

Once the training programme has been completed at either one of training facilities, we will then appoint an Assessor to complete the On-Site Assessment & Training (OSAT) which is complete on site to collate the necessary knowledge and practical evidence.

Level 3 Heritage Hard or Soft metal Roofing Operative

The Heritage Level 3 Lead Sheet and Hard Metals programmes are also an 18-month training and assessment programme, which consists of 45 days attendance at either one of our training centres delivered over 9 weeks blocks of 5 consecutive days in Year 1

Once the training programme has been completed at either one of training facilities, we will then appoint an Assessor to complete the On-Site Assessment & Training (OSAT) which is complete on site to collate the necessary knowledge and practical evidence.

Level 3 Heritage Roof Sating & Tiling Roofing Operative

The Heritage Level 3 Roof Slating & Tiling programmes are also an 18-month training and assessment programme, which consists of 45 days attendance at either one of our training centres delivered over 9 weeks blocks of 5 consecutive days in Year 1

Once the training programme has been completed at either one of training facilities, we will then appoint an Assessor to complete the On-Site Assessment & Training (OSAT) which is complete on site to collate the necessary knowledge and practical evidence.

The enrolments are as follows:

  • Lead and Hard Metals Level 2.
  • Heritage Lead and Hard Metals Level 3.
  • Heritage Roof Slating & Tiling Level 3.
